Known as the Lake District of Argentina and the gateway to Patagonia, San Carlos De Bariloche is rapidly being recognized as a relaxing and scenic gay-friendly destination. Located high up in the Andes Mountains with a temperate year-round climate, Bariloche offers everything from summer outdoor adventures to winter skiing. The large, pristine blue-water lakes surrounded by snow-capped mountains creates a perfect peaceful atmosphere. Not surprisingly, many LGBT tourists are discovering this South American playground.

Fellow IGLTA member Bariloche GayTravel is the leader in working with LGBT travelers to ensure a positive and gay-friendly experience during their stay in this mountain paradise. Owner Cristian Signorelli has lived most of his life in Bariloche and is dedicated to welcoming LGBT tourists to the region and ensuring that their visit is memorable. Through his knowledge and local experience he has developed a list of gay-friendly accommodations, restaurants, bars, and attractions to ensure that all gay travelers can enjoy a wide range of choices during their stay in the region.

Despite the new-found popularity of this region the prices for accommodations and entertainment are still lower than many other comparable destinations around the world. Anyone who has visited Argentina before is well aware of the lower cost of living and the holiday bargains still available today.

Bariloche offers many outdoor adventures including hiking the mountain trails, rafting, fishing, boating, canopy rides, cave exploring, bird watching, and much more. Not to mention the great panoramic views which seem to be around every corner. The beautiful clear night sky is well known for star-gazing and in fact the Galileo Boutique Apartment Hotel even has an observatory and telescope at the top of the building. And of course during the winter months of July, August, and September the skiing and snow sports are renowned at Catedral Ski Resort and village which is the largest of its kind in South America.

So with so many year-round attractions it is not surprising that LGBT travelers are discovering this popular Argentine destination. Bariloche GayTravel is dedicated to ensuring that the LGBT traveler makes the most of their vacation in this natural wonderland and especially at the annual Bariloche Gay Ski Week.
